Our Name

Kiboko is the Swahili word for “hippo,” as we offer an alternative to the all-too-common “HiPPO” approach of determining priorities based on the Highest-Paid Person’s Opinion at any time. The all too prevalent HiPPO approach at many organizations leaves that person extremely vulnerable and presiding over chaos. Kiboko brings order and optimization in pursuit of maximum growth.

Starting an ecommerce venture should be a viable path to financial freedom and generational wealth in the same way that starting bricks-and-mortar operations was generations ago. For each project proposed by users, Kiboko assigns a dynamic prioritization score.

Kiboko utilizes a proprietary algorithm to score each project on a scale of 0-100, taking into account:

  • Developer effort
  • Strategic fit (along multiple dimensions)
  • Impact relative to all other projects proposed or in progress
